Nowadays, particularly in urban areas, land space is a common problem for most schools. Space where they can put up Gulayan sa Paaralan which is one of the main concerns of the Department of Education in order to alleviate malnutrition among pupils.

To solve the stated problem, some schools purposedly set up a concrete rooftop where they can put up their Gulayan sa Paaralan. Luckily, Old Balara Elementary School is one of the few schools who has a rooftop space for Garden. Nonetheless, the Dilemma of this set up is the over exposure of the planted vegetables under the heat of the sun. Hence, to alleviate the overheat of the sun , we came up to an idea of converting our garden into a "Misting Garden". This neutralizes the high temperature in our garden. Thus, making our vegetables more robust and healthier . Giving more produce that is very useful in the preparation of feeding program that would somehow lessen the percentage of malnutrition in our school.

This Project was made possible with the support of our Stakeholders for the purchase of the misting set and other materials needed for the completion of the project. This Project was also made possible through partnership with the Department of Agriculture - Agricultural Training Institute through their materials and necessary tools needed in gardening.

This project was made with the collaborative efforts of the School Principal, EPP teachers, non-teaching personnel, and most of all, with the support of our Volunteer Parents in Collaboration with the Officers of Matandang Balara where our school is located. The "OBES TOP MISTING GARDEN" was set up at the report garden. It took more than a week for the completion of the said project . The Project cost about 10 thousand pesos Prior to its full operation excluding labor for those who volunteered during the establishment.
