Abstract
Since the pandemic struck the whole nation in 2020, the online modality has become an emerging educational trend in the Philippines. The mode of education has brought changes in the way of teaching and learning process, as well as instructional material. The focal point of this study is to determine the level of effectiveness on the utilization of Facebook live as a tool for improving academic performance of selected students of Grade 10 in English at Sauyo High School. Further identify the strength and weaknesses of Facebook Live as an online platform. More than a million people uses social media in their everyday life especially now that the country is in the height of restrictions and movements. The results will show the effectiveness of utilizing Facebook live in the improvement of students' academic performance.

The researcher uses Quasi-experimental research using two- group design and pre-test-post-test design . 50-item pre-test using Quizizz online test and 50-item post-test test using Quizizz online test in Grade 10 English, unstructured interview, observation, using Google meet and live interview during Live discussion of lesson, for descriptive study.

Using the pre-test post-test and answers in live interview to student respondents, confirms the effectiveness of utilizing Facebook live as an enhancement modality in augmenting the improvement of academic performance of grade 10 students in English through live discussion of lessons in providing various information and further discussion for students to understand lessons in real time.
