Abstract
The main objective of the study is to determine if there is a significant improvement on the academic performance in Mathematics among the three hundred thirty-seven (337) intermediate pupils who were exposed to Problem Solving Maps (PSM) The study uses quantitative pre-experimental research design and Problem Solving Maps (PSM) approach. These maps build on three major skills concepts: inductive thinking, deductive thinking, and analysis. When students use Problem Solving Maps, they learn both product and process. The maps also provide a common language for students to connect new concept with previous knowledge. Google Jamboard is incorporated in the activities which allows learners to collaboratively work with each other. Aside from that PowerPoint presentation samples the exercises using Problem Solving Maps were also used as activity in the google classroom. The PSM was done in the class by regular flow class discussion but mostly incorporating problem solving maps on the part of "What I Can Do?, "What's More" and Assessment" that was done individually and by groupwork. After third Quarter and Fourth Classifying Learners' Grade Per Learning Area in 8 learning areas for SY 2021-2022. Results revealed that mathematics obtained a Mean Percentage of 85.24 and classified very satisfactory. The result show remarkable increase of the academic performance of the Grade 6 pupils. In conclusion, the results imply the effectivity of the Problem Solving Maps to improve academic performance of intermediate learners in Mathematics.
