Abstract
The main problem of modern education is the lack of engagement and motivation of learners to participate actively in the learning process. One of the solutions devised to solved the problem is the Gamification of education. Gamification uses game based-mechanics, aesthetics and game thinking in order to engage people, promote learning and solve problems. This aforementioned approach is technique applied by the Singapore-based eLearning portal KooBits.

This research endeavor would like to explore on the effectiveness of KooBits as an complementary instructional material that could be of help in improving the students' academic performance in Mathematics.

Using the descriptive-Survey method of research, the study determined the level of pupils' performance using the pre-test. This research aims to determine if there is a significant difference between the previous performance and current one. Original set of questionnaire are constructed by the research for assessment. a short 6 question survey was used to determine pupils' satisfaction of their experience with KooBits, Results shows that there is a significant difference between the means and percentage of mastery of pretest and post-test. This data revealed that KooBits has a positive effect on students' academic performance in Mathematics.
