Abstract
To improve students ability on self-paced learning, this action research discuss the efficacy of Micro-lesson in word problem among grade 8 learners. It is a simple educational concept that improves memory retention by repeatable learning form and allow students to learn more efficiently. A pre-test and post-test were administered to identify the significant difference after utilizing Micro-Lessons, A pre test-posttest control group quasi-experimental design used in the study which involves 15 Grade 8 learners at Manuel A. Roxas High School (MRSH). The 15 learners purposely picked from grade 8 learners and have access to download the micro-lesson takes about 5-15 minutes with a short video lesson as the main carrier. The implementation of the program indicates an increased mean from 5.2 to 8.73 in learners performance was observed. Thus, for a continuity of learning and promotion of knowledge retention, this research has a strong recommendation of the continuation of Micro-Lesson with the following supporting actions; (1) A similar program is suggested for the Grade 7 -10, to be given; (2) Develop Micro - Lesson in Mathematics whre learners can download in order to enhance their skills; and (3) Form partnership between the stakeholders to provide the necessary materials or gadgets needed in the implementation of the program.
