Abstract
Mathematics is one of the subjects most students fail. In the middle of a school year, a
teacher can actually notice if the grades of a student is leading to failure or not. Having this
known, teachers are doing different ways to help the students who are at risk of failing
Mathematics. However, not all ways are effective to all kinds of learners. In the case of
remediation, reteach and even tutorial sessions offered by the teacher to these students, some
Students still do not attend because they are shy to their teachers. For this reason, the
researcher ivestigated a possible solution to the problem. The conduct of peer tutorial was
tried to check if it helps in increasing the students' performance in Mathematics. Chosen
students at risk offailing Mathematics were paired with students who perform well in the said
subject. Series of tutorial sessions were conducted by them through the guidance of the
researcher. At the end of the study, the grades of the respondents were analyzed and compared
through the mean and t-test and revealed that there 's a significant difference between the
students'performance in Mathematics in the present and previous quarters. This shows that
the program helped in increasing the students'performance in Mathematics. Aside from these
data, respondents' answers on the interview favors the program. It shows that it really helped
them perform better in Mathematics. The result suggests that this program may be used by
others to improve the students'performance in different subjects.
