Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate how video clips and graphic organizers can be used to further facilitates understanding Science concept among grade V pupils. Video Clips and Graphic Organizers (VCGO) facilitate learning in content areas by providing clear visualization of ideas and facilitating students reflection. Research was conducted in a class in Grade V which composed of 40 pupil-respondent. The teacher-researcher is the adviser difficulty in understanding science concept. This class is composed of a heterogenous section. This was chosen as the respondents in the study to investigate the effect of using video clips and graphic organizer (VCGO) in facilitating understanding of science concept. While teaching pupils in Science class the teacher-researcher taught two lessons. The first lesson used video clips and graphic organizers as tool in teaching while the other lesson had no VCGO integration. Results of the study favored the used of (VCGO) video clips and graphics organizers as tool in teaching while the other lesson had no VCGO integration. Results of the study favored the used of (VCGO) video clips and graphics organizers in facilitating understanding of science concept. The teacher-researcher conclude that video clips and graphic organizers (VCGO) are effective as both teaching and learning tool in facilitating understanding of science concept. Therefore, it is recommended that intervention in teaching science like the use of VCGO is very important to uplift understanding in science concept.
