Abstract
This basic research proposed to investigate the learner's readiness for online learning and the challenges that hampered their effective participation in online learning during theCOVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, this study sought to find out the respondents demographic and technological profile, their readiness towards online learning, the significant difference of gender in their readiness for online learning, and the challenges of pupils while learning online. A descriptive survey research was employed in this study. There were thirty-nine (39) respondents from Grade VI - Lapu-Lapu of Masambong Elementary School, School Year,2021-2022. A purposive sampling technique was utilized. Basically, the researcher obtained permission from the respondent's parents or guardians duly signed by them and sent a copy of the questionnaire thru their email or messenger. Based on the information and outcomes presented and discussed, the study revealed the following findings. Majority of the respondents were female (21, 53%). They preferred to use Smartphones (21, 54%) which they owned it personally (17, 44%). Respondents trusted heavily on internet connection via mobile data (31, 80%0). As to the type of online learning used, majority of respondents used Google Meet (33, 85%). The Overall weighted average obtained regarding of the online learning readiness in terms of the five dimensions was 3.83which most of the respondents have expressed that they are moderately ready for online learning.
