Abstract
In Bagong Silangan Elementary School the existence of a large percentage of low-
achieving students especially in the four fundamental operations is evident at this time of
the pandemic. That is why there is a need to do something to eradicate the poor
performance of the pupils. There should be a special program that focuses on their special
needs to enhance their performance in basic numeracy skills. If mathematics teachers do
not address these needs, students with low performance in mathematics may eventually
lose interest and refuse to learn further.

The OPLAN TUTOK BILANG VIRTUAL NUMERACY PROGRAM was
formulated. It was a remedial class for Bagong Silangan Elementary School pupils who
had shown low performance in the basic operations in mathematics. The program aimed to uplift and improved the academic performance of the learners a
well as to attain mastery of the four basic operations in mathematics.

All mathematics teachers used an onlinevirtual way of teaching mathematics that
includes games to give an enjoyable, engaging, and fun-filled learning experience.
Furthermore, the pupils were given appropriate mathematics activities and exercises that
would help them enhance their performance in basic mathematical skills.

Preliminary testing using google forms was made to identify the participants of the
project. Remedial classes were conducted for the period of one hour every Monday,
Wednesday, and Friday. The program is intended for pupils who are low performing in
mathematics and started on October 4, 2021, to June 3, 2022. This project had estimated
costs of Php 8,295.00 for the numeracy materials for the pupils who were not capable of
online learning.
