Abstract
Over a year after the COVID-19 pandemic, it is undeniable that this unexpected crisis brought a major revamp in the world's operations for which the education sector is never exempted. With numerous concerns on the effect of the pandemic on people's health and work, stakeholders of the Academe became anxious and depressed. This descriptive-correlational study aims to assess the current stress level of Pasong Tamo Elementary School teachers for the S.Y. 2020-2021 and the main drivers of stress among them. To gather responses effectively and safely from the teachers during the pandemic, this study utilized an online survey made through Google Forms. The survey is composed of an adopted Primary Care Evaluation of Mental Disorders Patient Health Questionnaire and Likert scales. A total of 92 teachers responded to the survey. Results showed that most teachers are suffering from mild to moderately severe depression. Main stress drivers include deadlines of reports, communicating with parents, and dealing with gadgets over a long period. This study emphasizes that action must be done to help teachers deal with the stress brought by the world crisis. Since it is done a year after the pandemic has begun, this research can provide valuable and relative insights if compared to baseline research studies. Furthermore, the study can be used as a reference for the progress of research studies that dwell on stress levels among teachers.
