Abstract
Using ICT in the teaching and learning process is very crucial because it provides better learning experience to the learners of the 21st Century. Teachers are one of the most influential factors that can contribute to the success of learners that's why teachers should find ways to improve their teaching practices. Teachers are now encouraged to use ICT in their demonstration teachings to obtain higher observation rating. The main focus of this study is on ICT usage among teachers of New Era Elementary School in Quezon City. More specifically, this study aims at identifying the level of computer skills and knowledge of elementary school teachers in the teaching and learning process. A total of 55 teachers from new Era Elementary Schools in Quezon City, have been conveniently selected to complete this quantitative study's survey questionnaire. The findings showed that most of the teachers are normal users wherein most of them uses computer form creating their school works more often as compared to using it in the teaching and learning inside the classroom. Moreover, results showed that teachers are willing to be equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills. This positive attitude may lead to great opportunities for them to use ICT in the teaching and learning process effectively. Future studies related to this research is considered to find out more improvements on using ICT in teaching and learning process.
