Abstract
Leopoldo B. Santos Elementary School has 40 Grade 4 pupils that are inept in solving
four fundamental operations in Mathematics. Periodical test reveals that Grade 4 students received the least mean percentage of mastery in Math wherein 50.65 % of pupils in Grade 4 did not pass the test. To address this alarming problem, the researcher and CIP team come up with a solution through root cause analysis. Math-TUTOKhang intervention is a remedial class program for Grade 4 strugglers in Math. The study uses quantitative pre-experimental research design. The program uses educational videos in teaching Math to address the root cause of teachers teaching in traditional way. Incorporating games is used to lessen the learners' apprehension in learning Math. Aside from teachers who are teaching in the program, the SPG officers were tapped to teach as big brother and sister. The program started by giving pre-test. Result shows that few pupils passed the test on each fundamental operation. After four months of the program, post-test was given. The result shows remarkable increase of passers on each fundamental operation. In conclusion, the results imply the effectivity of the MATH-TUTOKhang as an intervention for Mathematical proficiency in the four fundamental
operations.
