Abstract
This study attempted to determine instructional status of electrical installation and maintenance and the learner's academic performance to serve as basis for a proposed industry partnership convergence and teacher's career progression plan. Specifically, it dealt on specific questions about a) Instructional status of electrical installation and maintenance, b) test of significant difference in the assessment of the three groups of respondents on the instructional status of electrical installation and maintenance, c) performance of the learner's respondents based on the general weighted average for the last three years using mean percentage score in electrical installation and maintenance, and d) test of significant relationship between the instructional status of electrical installation and maintenance track in senior high school. It involved nine electrical installation and maintenance teachers, three master teachers and five school heads with a total of seventeen respondents selected through purposive sampling.
This investigation employed descriptive quantitative method of research since it elicited information or data from the three groups of respondents using a survey instrument. The data gathered were treated using weighted mean for problems number one on instructional status of electrical installation and maintenance and problems number three on the performance of the learner's respondents based on the general weighted average using the mean percentage score in electrical installation and maintenance. On the other hand, ANOVA (single factor) was used to determine the significant difference in the assessment of the three groups of respondents on the instructional status of electrical installation and maintenance, an t-test for the test of significant relationship between the instructional status of electrical installation and maintenance and the learner's academic performance. The study generated the following findings 1) The master teachers rated as Very High Extent the utilization of facilities and equipment, methods/strategies in lesson delivery and evaluation of outcomes and High Extent partner-industry linkage while Very High Extent the evaluation of outcomes, 2) There was No Significant difference in the assessment of the three groups of respondents on the instructional status of the electrical installation and maintenance, 3) The learners' performance for the last three years general weighted average in electrical installation and maintenance and the learner respondents' performance.
The conclusions drawn are the following: 1) The instructional status of electrical installation and maintenance as assessed by the three groups of respondents yields the following: as regards to the evaluation of outcomes is found out to be Very High Extent with an average weighted mean of 4.36 followed by methods/strategies in lesson delivery with an average weighted mean of 4.27 interpreted as Very High Extent, including the partner industry linkage, and utilization of facilities and equipment with an average weighted means of 4.11 and 3.81 with descriptive value of High Extent. This means that the utilization of facilities and equipment, and partner industry linkage has still to improve and maximize its utilization, 2) The test of significant difference revealed that the assessment of the three groups of respondent's instructional status of electrical installation and maintenance is not significant. This led to the Acceptance of the hypothesis, 3) The performance of the respondent schools yielded based on their MPS for the last three years has shown that the school F with an average of 77 or rank 1, including school C with an average of 73 or rank 2, followed by school B and school E with an average of 62 or rank 3.5, and school A with an average of 58 or rank 5. It means that most of the learners performance had an average of 50 percent and above, 4) the test of significant relationship showed that between the instructional status of electrical installation is not related to the learner's academic performance. The hypothesis is Accepted hence is Not Significant and 5) As to the proposed the Industry Partnership Convergence and Teachers' Career Progression Plan for Electrical Installation and Maintenance teachers, master teachers and school heads of senior high school to maximized the utilization of facilities and equipment, acquired new knowledge in the work industry, and develop a progression plan that can help them grow and develop their teaching professions and applied to teaching instruction.
Based on the findings and conclusions drawn, the offered recommendations are: 1) the instructional status of electrical installation and maintenance in assessment of the utilization of facilities and equipment needs to employ necessary skills and trainings based on the working industry process, 2) the school heads, master teachers and teachers to pursue and engaged in continuous professional development, improve the utilization of tools and equipment, and engage partner industry that will be able to provide satisfactory performance of the learners need to improve in providing the necessary knowledge, skills and trainings that can be used in the necessary knowledge, skills and trainings that can be used in the partnered industry, 4) recommended in the annual training program of electrical installation and maintenance and adopt a methodical approach in linking the partner industry, 5) A similar study should be conducted in the national capital region with an electrical installation and maintenance track offered in senior high school to provide other research enthusiasts a more conclusive justification and comparative findings for purposes of future research studies, 6) another study could be pursued which would focus on the determination instructional status and academic performance of electrical installation and maintenance relating to their utilization of facilities and equipment , methods/strategies in lesson delivery and partner industry linkage, and 7) The researcher can use the salient findings to make industry partnership convergence and teachers' career progression plan regarding the electrical installation and maintenance instruction in senior high school.
A proposed industry partnership convergence and teachers' career progression plan to electrical installation and maintenance teachers, master teachers and school heads of senior high school to enhance their skills, facilities and equipment, and acquire new knowledge in the work industry. It can help them to grow and develop in their teaching professions and applied teaching instruction. Demonstrate for EIM Teacher and Master Teachers will be held annually to showcase skills and adopt innovations, various strategies and pedagogies in teaching EIM learners. Mastery of the skills in electrical installation and maintenance is vital in teaching the subject.
