Abstract
The purpose of this is to examine the leadership styles of the school-heads and the senior high school teachers' job satisfaction in the Schools Division of Quezon City. The study was conducted to determine the different leadership styles of the school-heads/principal based on the path-goal theory of leadership and its relationship to the teacher's job satisfaction. The study employed quantitative leadership questionnaire and Herzberg's Motivation-Hygiene Factors of Job Satisfaction Questionnaire were used. The respondents of the study were identified using stratified random sampling. A total of 163 senior high school teachers, 6 school-heads and 4 principals from Schools Division of Quezon City participated as respondents. Data was analyzed using frequency, percentage, weighted mean and Spearman Rank Correlation formula. The study revealed that school-heads /principal used the four leadership styles proposed in path-goal theory of leadership namely; directive, supportive, participative, and achievement-oriented style and has significant relationship to teacher's job satisfaction. The study showed that all leadership under path goal theory have direct and strong relationship to the Herzberg's Hygiene factor Administration and Supervision while only supportive leadership style has a direct and strong relationship to the Motivator Advancement. However, the study had found out that the four-leadership styles used in the study has a positive and weak relationship in the factor personal growth. Congruently, the findings of the study showed that the directive leadership style is the most dominant leadership style being used by school-heads/principals in senior high school while there is a need to improve the use of supportive leadership style in senior high school while there is a need to improve the use of supportive leadership styles implies a tendency of increase in the assessment of job satisfaction. Hence, to fully satisfy teachers, school heads/principals should promote enrichment programs and activities
